the one where, as I was on my way to the library to get-my-study-on, I heard loud music playing outside of Sbisa. Naturally, I was curious!
I turned around and the first thing I saw was a GIANT BUNNY!! As I got closer, I could see a huge dragon dancing through a big crowd of people—and then I remembered the flyers hanging all over campus…it’s the Chinese Lunar New Year! (Welcome to the Year of the Rabbit! That explains the huge bunny!)
I joined the festivities, watching several dance performances and making friends with a nice girl who moved here from China less than a year ago. She was super-excited for the celebration, and her enthusiasm was contagious! She saw me taking pictures of the performances and wanted me to take a picture with the rabbit, so I did!!! Then Kristin joined me for dinner, where we tried clams for the first time. I also broadened my food-horizons by trying bok choy and fried banana. And the GREATEST peanut butter cookie of my life. (Note to self: be sure to check for these more often!)
And in case you were wondering, yes, I eventually did get-my-study-on. Thanks for coming with me, Kristin!!! :)
