Day 139

May 19, 2011

the one where we went to the Eiffel Tower early in the morning, had sing-alongs all day, saw Napoleon Bonaparte’s tomb, explored a military museum (and got to see lots of World War II memorabilia), ate French fries, finished buying gifts on Rue de Rivoli, ate more French ice cream, and looked at DVDs at a movie rental place. (It’s hilarious that they change the names of movies! “Despicable Me” was “Moi, Moche et Méchant” and “The Spongebob Movie” was “Le Bob L’éponge Film!” I couldn’t stop laughing, even though it’s probably not that funny…)

Then we walked past Moulin Rouge just to say that we did, and had a really fun last dinner together at Pari’s Café. Since it was our last night in Paris, Gigi and I decided to take a risk and try escargot. (Haha I know…just a few days ago we were eating McDonald’s!) And I can honestly say that we LOVED it! So much, in fact, that we ended up ordering more! Never in a kajillion years would I have imagined spending a week in Paris, ordering escargot, and then considering it one of the best things I’ve ever eaten...but yeah, that TOTALLY just happened. Afterward we went to the Eiffel Tower to watch it do that crazy light-up thing it does every hour on the hour! And getting to sit in the grass and watch it was AWESOME. Thank you God, for blessing me with this experience!
