Day 68

March 9, 2011

the one where the Lenten Season began. In case anyone doesn’t know, Lent is a time where we reflect, repent, and strive to grow closer to the Lord. On Ash Wednesday, we mark ourselves with ashes as a sign of repentance. They are in the shape of a cross on our foreheads as a reminder that we belong to Christ. We strive to grow closer to Him by increasing prayer, almsgiving, and fasting; this is why people usually make a sacrifice during Lent, and offer it up to Jesus.
